Very beautiful and rare antique Louis XV period fireplace, made in the 18th century out of Arabescato marble. The jambs have a strong winding applied with an acanthus leaf and surmounted by a beautiful shell. The center of the slightly scalloped lintel is carved with a large leafy shell.
This fireplace, characteristic of the Louis XV era and its taste for curved shapes, foliage and shells, is an extremely rare model which quality of sculpture and finesse of the decor seem to indicate a special order for a beautiful home.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert and with its marble floor.
