The band of this fireplace is smooth and uniform. It's on the feet that the fireplace is more patterned. A cylinder is carved at the top of the legs, onto which an acanthus leaf is scrolled, gradually unfurling over the curved section of the legs. This curved section is used to carve large scrolls that end in small scrolls on the sides. The rest of the leg is covered with moldings reminiscent of architectural pilasters. The end of the leg is carved with a lion's paw.
Note that the inner part of the fireplace does not follow the shape of the band, but takes on an archaic form independent of the overall geometry.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor but could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
