Excellent condition. Some restoration on the entablature.
Very elegant Louis XIV style Serravezza marble mantel. Mantle in the "Bolection" style with a large rounded molding that runs along the hearth opening but stops above the jambs creating a sort of capital above console jambs. The spandrels that stretch towards the middle of the entablature are delicately carved with molded panels. The jambs are slightly curved and adorned with panels highlighted with moldings.
With original cast iron insert, with putti in medallions on a lattice pattern backdrop. No marble front hearth.
