The beautiful color of this sea green marble plays well with the symmetrical yet flowing decoration of this Louis XVI style mantel. The entablature, with a central oval medallion delicately framed by a fine scroll of leaves carved onto a protruding panel surrounded by recessed panels, is flanked with projecting heads adorned with rosettes creating a strong geometrical design. The shelf follows the movement of the composition. The jambs are gently curved and scrolled. With a fine quality of sculpture.
With neither hearth floor nor insert.
