Double room of woodwork separated by 4 double-sided doors. Each room has at its far end chimneys, which face one another when the separating doors are open. The set is complete and includes: all wood panelling on the walls, the original tailor-made buffet for the woodwork, the windows and bronze cremonas and hardware signed Bricard. The door handles and locks are double-sided. There are two complete chimneys with iron inserts and hearths. 3 windows in room A, 1 window in room B.

The first carved bronze locks, gold-plated by hand with mercury, appeared in the 17th century. They were made by prestigious artists such as CAFFIERI, DELAFOSSE, GOUTHIERE and MESSONIER to decorate the doors of the rich apartments of the Palace of Versailles; these artists produced authentic masterpieces, some of which are now part of the BRICARD collection. Created in 1782 at the time of Louis XVI, the Locksmith King, BRICARD now has over 30,000 antique models in its archives and to the present day can, on order from its customers, cast, carve, gold-plate and assemble locks, hasps, espagnolettes, keys, buttons, levers, decorative plates and any other rare pieces preciously preserved.
