Antique Japanese style bed decorated with birds, branches, butterflies and a Japanese character carrying a burden of wood on his back made out of engraved and inlaid bone. Very nice quality of the decor, especially in the realism and precision of the details. The headboard is adorned on its pediment with a dragon carved in the round. The asymmetry of forms is quite characteristic of the taste for Japanism in furniture in the second half of the 19th century.
