This rare antique Neo-Classical style fireplace was realized in Carrara marble in the 19th century. The frieze is very finely carved in the center with a Minerva head, the Roman goddess of wisdom and war. All around spreads a thin row of pearls, each connected by a marble wire to the other. The legs are represented in the form of halves columns crowned by a capital with acanthus leaves.
This antique fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert but without any marble floor. This one could be made on order.
