A rare and striking polychrome glazed earthenware wall panel, composed of relief-moulded tiles forming a chocolate-brown vegetal border adorned with oak leaves and acorns. The central painted scene depicts a moonlit lakeside landscape, with a solitary fisherman in a boat gliding across silver reflections under a cloud-filled blue sky. Both romantic and naturalistic, the style recalls the Barbizon school.
Framed with olive-green geometric motifs and neo-Renaissance style corner ornaments. Mounted on original wooden backing.
